The Moldavian sparkling wine won the prestigious prize "Trophee Prestige" along with the Champaign wines from the well-known trade houses.
In the period 19-23 of June, 2005, in Bordeaux, France, there took place the International Wine and Spirits Exhibition "Vinexpo 2005".
Within the frames of the exhibition, there was held the international competition "Les Citadelles du Vin" (www.citadellesduvin.com) where were presented more than 1300 wines from 30 countries of the world.
The sparkling wine Lion Gri Classic Brut was awarded the medal "Trophee Prestige" in the competition of sparkling wines produced according to classical technology.
The Moldovan sparkling wine won this prestigious prize along with the Champaign wines from the well-known trade houses Jacqart, famous Cava wines from Spain, Eric Brut Nature 2001 from Masia Vallformosa and Grand Claustro Brut Nature 2002 from Catillo de Perelada.
It is significant to note that the Classical Brut 2001 was previously awarded with the bronze medal at the international tasting competition in London ("The International Wine and Spirits Competition 2004"), was included in the French guide "1000 best wines of the world", awarded with golden medals at Russian international tasting competitions ("Russian International Wine and Spirits Fair, Prodexpo"), as well as multiple golden medals at tasting competitions organized in Moldova.
The results of the competition will be published in the catalogue "Palmares des Vins du Monde" that will be distributed to international distributors, importers, retailers and specialized publications with the purpose of increasing the demand for wines.
